Types of respirators and how they differ

  • Disposable respirator masks: 3M 9004IN, 9000ING, 9004GV, 8822 and 9913; Venus fold flat and cup masks (V-44+, V-444+, V-20, V-90, V-2424, V-2426, CN95 OV); Karam FFP1, FFP2 and FFP3 masks for dust, welding and painting. Filter levels are the maker's rating. Used once, then thrown away.
  • Reusable half face masks: 3M 6100, 6200 and 6300 (small, medium, large), 3M 7502 silicone, Venus V-900 silicone and Honeywell North N550030. You fit the filter that suits the hazard.
  • Full face masks: 3M 6800, Venus V-668 and V-999-MS with a wide visor that also covers the eyes.
  • Cartridges and filters: 3M 6001 to 6005 gas and vapour cartridges, 2091 and 7093 P100 and 5N11 particulate filters with the 501 retainer; Venus V-7700, V-7800 and V-7900 ABEK filters; Honeywell North 7580P100.
  • Powered air purifying respirators (PAPR): Venus Chemical 2F, Freflow (for welding) and Clean Air EVO blow filtered air into a hood or helmet.
  • Supplied air (airline) respirators: the Venus 13097 set feeds clean compressed air to a hood, with spare hoses, a belt flow valve and the CA-2 Tyvek hood.
  • SCBA: the Venus SCBA 108-6AS with a 6.8 litre carbon composite cylinder, for air that is not safe to breathe.

How to choose a respirator

  • Know the hazard: dust and mist need a particulate filter; organic vapour, acid gas, ammonia or formaldehyde need the matching gas cartridge.
  • Know how long: a disposable mask suits short or light work; a reusable mask is better value for daily use; PAPR is more comfortable on long shifts.
  • Unsafe air: in tanks, pits and other confined spaces with low oxygen or unknown gas, filters are not enough; use supplied air or SCBA.
  • Fit: pick the right face piece size and do a seal check each time it is worn. Beards stop a tight seal.

Respirator price in India

The price depends on the type, the face piece size, the filter and the pack size. Each product shows a starting price as a guide, before GST. The final price comes with your quote and depends on the options and quantity. Filters are bought again and again, so ask for bulk pricing on refills.

Respiratory FAQs

Quick answers to what buyers ask us most. For anything else, ask us on WhatsApp.

Ask on WhatsApp
What is the difference between a half face and a full face respirator?

A half face mask covers the nose and mouth. A full face mask also covers the eyes and face with a visor, which helps where gases or splashes can irritate the eyes.

Which cartridge should I use for paint fumes?

Paint solvents are organic vapours, so an organic vapour cartridge such as the 3M 6001 is the usual choice, with a particulate pre-filter for spray mist. Check the paint's safety data sheet to confirm.

When is an SCBA needed instead of a mask?

When the air has too little oxygen or an unknown or high level of gas, such as in tanks, pits and other confined spaces. Filters only clean air; an SCBA supplies its own.

How long do respirator cartridges last?

It depends on the gas level, humidity and hours of use. Change gas cartridges on a fixed schedule or as soon as the wearer smells or tastes the gas, and change particulate filters when breathing gets hard.

Do 3M filters fit Venus or Honeywell masks?

Usually no. Each maker uses its own fitting, so buy filters from the same range as the mask body.

Are the prices on this page final?

No. Each product shows a starting price as a guide, before GST. The final price comes with your quote.
