Types of traffic cones

  • Standard plastic cones: roto moulded LLDPE or polyethylene cones in red with white reflective bands, with a round, square or hexagonal base.
  • Rubber and heavy base cones: a heavy black rubber base keeps the cone standing in wind and in the draught of passing vehicles. Base weights in the range run from about 1.2 kg up to 9.5 kg.
  • Flexible cones: bend when a vehicle runs over them and stand back up.
  • Display cones: taller cones with a sign board or sign face for messages such as no parking.
  • Air cones and green cones: a vented air cone and a green cone for special uses.
  • Cone accessories: red and white plastic chain sold per metre, S hooks, a retractable topper belt, and message plates that fit on top of a cone.

How to choose a traffic cone

  • Height: 500 mm cones suit indoor and parking use. 750 mm is the common size for roads, sites and parking. 1000 mm cones are easier to see on highways and fast roads.
  • Base: pick a rubber or heavy base for outdoor roads and windy sites, and a light base for indoor and short-term use.
  • Night use: reflective collars or sleeves make the cone visible in headlights.
  • Sets: ready sets of 2 to 10 cones with chain and hooks are a quick way to close a lane, a parking bay or a loading area.

Traffic cone price in India

Using traffic cones on site

Place the first cone well before the hazard so drivers have time to slow down, then set the rest in a taper to guide traffic past the work area. Keep cones clean so the reflective collars stay bright, and stack them when not in use.

The price of a traffic cone depends on its height, base weight, material, reflective collar and the pack size. Each product on this page shows a starting price as a guide, before GST. The final price comes with your quote and depends on the options and quantity. For large orders, ask for bulk pricing.

Traffic Cones FAQs

Quick answers to what buyers ask us most. For anything else, ask us on WhatsApp.

Ask on WhatsApp
What size traffic cone is used on roads?

The 750 mm cone is the most common for roads, sites and parking. A 1000 mm cone is easier to see on highways and fast roads.

Why choose a rubber base traffic cone?

A heavy rubber base keeps the cone standing in wind and when vehicles pass close by, so it stays in its place.

How do I connect traffic cones into a barrier line?

Use plastic cone chain with S hooks, or a retractable topper belt, between the cones. Several cone sets on this page come with chain and hooks.

Are traffic cones reflective?

Most cones on this page have white reflective collars or sleeves so they show up in headlights at night. Check the product details for each model.

Are the traffic cone prices final?

No. Each product shows a starting price as a guide, before GST. The final price comes with your quote and depends on the model and quantity.
