Types of eye protection

  • Safety spectacles (safety glasses): light polycarbonate glasses against flying particles, for daily wear on the shop floor. • Safety goggles: they seal round the eyes for dust, grinding and liquid splash. Choose from Udyogi Galaxy Duos, UD 31, UD 39 and Ultraview, Karam ES008 and ES009, the 3M 1621 chemical splash goggle, Mallcom Agena and Cirrus, Honeywell V-Maxx, Venus G-507 and Unicare Ultrasonic and U-Sonic.
  • Foam sealed and mesh goggles: Udyogi Neo Lite glasses with a soft foam seal, and the G-Mesh wire mesh goggle where fogging is the main problem.

  • Prescription safety frames: take your own power lenses, such as the Unicare Mercury and Meteor and Udyogi 1273 and 2371 frames.

For welding, brazing and gas cutting, see welding goggles and shields.

How to choose safety glasses or goggles

  • Spectacles or goggles: spectacles suit flying particles and general work; goggles suit dust, grinding and chemical splash, because they seal round the eyes.
  • Lens tint: clear for indoor work, smoked or grey for outdoor glare, and dark or shade lenses only for the welding and furnace jobs they are made for.
  • Anti-fog: pick an anti-fog (AF) lens or a vented goggle in hot, humid areas and for workers who also wear masks.
  • Vents: indirect vent goggles reduce fogging and keep liquid out; direct vent goggles suit dust and impact work only.
  • People who wear glasses: give them over-spectacles or a prescription safety frame, not a standard spectacle.
  • Packs: many spectacles come in packs of 10 or 12, which suits stores and contractors.

Eye Protection FAQs

Quick answers to what buyers ask us most. For anything else, ask us on WhatsApp.

Ask on WhatsApp
What is the difference between safety glasses and safety goggles?

Safety glasses are open around the edges and protect against flying particles. Safety goggles seal round the eyes, so they also keep out dust and liquid splash.

Which safety glasses can I wear over my own spectacles?

Over-spectacles (OTG) such as the Udyogi UD 30, Karam ES007 or Unicare Super OTG are made to fit over normal glasses. For all-day wear, a prescription safety frame is more comfortable.

Which goggles are used for chemical splash?

Sealed goggles with indirect vents, such as the 3M 1621, Karam ES009 or Udyogi Galaxy Duos and UD 31.

How do I stop safety glasses from fogging?

Choose an anti-fog (AF) lens or a vented goggle, keep the lens clean, and make sure the glasses fit well with any mask the worker uses.

Are the prices on this page final?

No. Each product shows a starting price as a guide, before GST. The final price comes with your quote and depends on the options and quantity.
