Normal PU soles soften on hot floors. A heat resistant safety shoe has a nitrile rubber outsole that the maker rates for contact with surfaces up to 300°C for up to 1 minute (maker’s rating). Allen Cooper heat resistant models also resist water and oil and have an anti-skid sole design, for steel plants, foundries, forging, glass, boiler houses and road work with hot bitumen.
