Types of first aid kits
A first aid kit holds what is needed to treat small cuts, burns and sprains on the spot and to give basic care until medical help arrives. This page has two St Johns ranges:
- St Johns industrial first aid kits (SJF M1 to M5): made for factories, plants, warehouses and construction sites, in five sizes from the SJF M5 mini to the SJF M1 large kit, which also has a soft stretcher. The SJF M1 is listed as the Indus Act large kit.
- St Johns workplace first aid kits in a plastic box (SJF P1 to P5): stocked for the cuts, burns and sprains of daily work. The SJF P1 is large, the SJF P2 is large and wall mounted, the SJF P3 is a medium handy box, the SJF P4 is medium and wall mounted, and the SJF P5 is small and wall mounted.
How to choose a first aid kit
- Number of people: a small kit suits a cabin, shop or small office; floors with more people need a medium or large kit, or more than one.
- Type of work: factory floors, workshops and sites with machines and heavy work are better served by the industrial SJF M range.
- Wall mount or handy: a wall mounted box stays in a fixed, known place; a handy box can be carried to the injured person or to a site.
- Placement: keep kits in marked spots on every floor and shift, near work areas and the first aid room.
- Refills: name a person to check the kit every month, refill used items and replace anything out of date.
A kit is only useful when someone knows how to use it. Train a few people on each shift in first aid and CPR.
First aid kit price in India
The price depends on the range and size of the kit. Each product shows a starting price as a guide, before GST. The final price comes with your quote and depends on the model and quantity. For a kit on every floor or site, ask for bulk pricing.
